About the Author
John Lucich is a licensed commercial multi-engine pilot, flight instructor, and seaplane pilot with an Airline Transport Pilot rating. While never employed by the airlines, he had accumulated over 3,000 hours of flight time with Part 135 operators, flying charters and cargo up and down the Eastern Seaboard in light twins single-pilot IFR, as well as with flight instruction and personal flying. John is pictured during recurrent flight training, flying a PA-34-200 in South Florida and descending out of 4,700 feet with the left engine out and prop feathered.
John ultimately left aviation and pursued a career in law enforcement. He was a police officer with the Township of Fairfield, NJ for five years, then worked undercover for the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, Division of Criminal Justice, Organized Crime Racketeering & Corruption Bureau until his retirement.
John is well aware of the difficulties flight crews face in their jobs. Over the years, he has seen friends who flew for airlines and corporations go through divorces and suffer with other personal challenges. His mission is to reach out to flight crews and police officers and bring them closer to developing a relationship with Christ.
